Iain’s briefing note, ahead of tonight’s debate:

Thats a tally of 10 Conserviative and 3 Labour, it is interesting to see the Labour party are using the same address for all of their emails while the Tories have a slightly wider spread.

With the list above I’d say David Cameron’s “Your Family Home” is probably the best title while Boris Johnson’s 419’tastic “Iain – Pass it on” had alarm bells ringing and zero chance of opening.

The tone of the emails has been interesting, Cecil Parkinsons email is clearly written for people who enjoy reading The Telegraph with long paragraphs referencing back to the Politburo, the1970’s and World War Two.

Harriet Harman did an odd thing by starting her email “Hi —” it looks intentional but feels strange as i know they have my first name and she signs the email Harriet.

Ed Miliband’s email references Clement Attlee, Harold Wilson and Tony Blair but the biggest issue for me is that he signs off as Ed. The man is asking for my vote to become the Prime Minister and I just feel he should use his full name and its only Ed who has done this the others all include a “Best Wishes” or a “Your Faithfully” and Ed’s email feels a bit abrupt.

But what do you think, please subscribe to the political parties newsletters and lets gauge who we should vote for based on email newsletters.
