Clearer Communication, Better Results and Not Tied To A Contract
The following case study is in relation to a local Chartered Accountant practice that wanted to improve their digital marketing, in order to help them grow their digital exposure and generate more, new business enquiries direct from their website.
Hysons, Chartered Accountants offer a range of services from large audits to limited business accounting, personal accounting, charity accounting, through to a range of tax advice. Their aim is to take away the stress of accounting compliance burdens in order to allow business leaders to focus more on the development of their business.
The challenge:
This client was previously dealing with a full service marketing agency that gave them a lack of clarity on the improvements that were being made to their website and what opportunities there were for growth. They were not seeing enough new business enquiries directed from their website and there was no growth in the traffic of the website. Therefore, they wanted to move away from their agency but were tied to them through a contract and had a website built with bespoke coding. When discussing their concern with the previous agency, their solution was that they needed to spend more money to improve this, however we had a better solution that did not involve any extra costs.
Our Solution:
The goal was clear, we needed to improve the Google rankings in order to improve the traffic numbers, which will generate new business enquiries. The barriers that the company previously faced consisted of getting out of a contract with their previous agency and being able to have a website where they weren’t tied to one provider.
Step one was to build an exact copy of their existing website using WordPress so they were no longer tied to one website agency. Next, we did a full Search Engine audit of the new website, which included competitor research and keyword research to understand what opportunities there were going forward. We then implemented the initial SEO audit findings and put the new website live. The last step was to continue website optimisation, producing written content from our UK based copywriters, sourcing excellent quality UK focused links, plus support the client in other smaller tasks like social media updates and managing their email marketing.
During the work that took place, the business owner was kept up to date with what was going on, what the next focus areas are and taking feedback from the client on what was happening in the business overall. As this company is local to us, face-to-face meetings were beneficial to get better detail of how to align our work with the clients’ goals.
The results:
The project surrounding this company has been running since September 2023 and impressive results have been achieved since then. As seen on the graph below, the website has seen a 78% increase in organic traffic sessions and the quality of the traffic has also improved generating a respectable number of enquiries, and enabling the business to grow. We are also saving the client £500 per month on agency fees and that’s before the increase that the previous agency suggested.
The increase in organic traffic indicates that more people have been able to find the website by searching for a range of keywords that link back to the companies website. One of the main goals we wanted to achieve with keyword research was for people to be able to find the company without knowing it already exists. The company have mentioned that this is the only marketing they do and that they are satisfied with the clarity given during the changes being made to their website.
In summary:
Over the first 6 months, we have helped increase their inbound enquiries, given them greater clarity on what is being worked on with their website and become a true partner to work with going forward. Furthermore, this client is not tied to us on a long contract, or tied to a web developer due to a bespoke website so should they wish to move in the future, or take the work in house, there are no barriers. Obviously, we hope they will be with us for a long time as we continue to increase the traffic and increase the enquiries coming in.
