SEO will generate you Google traffic but which sources generate the most business?

This slide shows not just the amount of traffic but where it is coming from and more importantly where are the enquiries/sales coming from….

We tailor our reporting to meet with your business goals but even if you are only an SEO customer we like to share all of your sources of traffic from email marketing, social media, paid advertising, referral from other websites, direct traffic, map traffic and of course your Google Organic traffic. Often we see clients spending hours and hours on social media with a goal of generating business but when they see this report and minimal enquiries coming they question if the effort is better spent elsewhere. 

The examples you see on this page are the details behind the high level summary we send to our client. Some clients are happy with a one page SEO report and others want as much detail as possible. We cater for both but always try and show the areas that are working and where improvements are needed, even if its not a source that we are working on.

Each month we are available to talk through these reports to help our clients understand the performance of their website as a lead generating tool and specifically to see the returns they are getting for the investment being made.

What did they search for in Google before arriving at your site, how long do they stay on your website for, is this SEO traffic growing and what device did they use….

By understanding everything on this report we can learn the terms that generate the most valuable traffic for you and conversely the areas that need to be worked on. This report is great for showing the terms you are appearing high in Google for versus the people clicking through. If you are ranked number 1 for a term but only 5% of people click through and 95% of people leave that one page, then getting the Google ranking in not enough.

With the insight given by this report on people arriving at your site, it not only provides a basis to carry on your SEO improvements but also great insight for potentially running a Google Ads Pay Per Click campaign. It shows us which devices, keyword terms and times of day work best to drive enquiries/sales.

We are not trying to confuse our clients with these reports and everyone is different in terms of the desire to understand SEO and website performance, we cater for all needs. Ultimately our goal is to be open on what is, or isn’t, being achieved.

Which pages on your website are the money makers?

We need to know which of your pages pull in the most traffic, to capitalise and replicate this success on other pages…..

This reports shows us the traffic trends for each page and highlights those with high bounce rates (the pages people leave your website on) that may need to be worked on to ensure people stay on your website.

We also focus on not just the amount of users arriving to your website but how many of those are new. If your existing customers are 100% of your monthly traffic then this report highlights that you aren’t reaching new audiences and limiting your opportunities to gain new customers.

It also shows on average how many pages are being looked at, and the goal is nearly always to expand the amount of pages people visit once they land on your website.
