Front Page Advantage Improves Tourism Potential for Devon Holidays

Standing out in the thriving UK tourism industry can be challenging for companies based in popular locations. This is part of the challenge the private lodge rentals business, Devon Holidays, has been experiencing.  

 

Offering stunning holiday trips in scenic Devon, the business has a selection of privately owned lodges within the Finlake Resort. As well as providing a comfortable, self-catered stay for a trip, Devon Holidays also provides all the usual resort amenities, including pools, a gym and spa, places to eat, plus lots of on-site activities. 

 

They even offer pet-friendly lodging showcasing something for everyone. Devon Holidays chose to work with Front Page Advantage to improve its reach and bring in more guests through an effective SEO campaign.

The Challenge: 

Thanks to its award-winning beaches and quaint market towns, Devon is a popular spot for families and solo travellers to visit. While footfall is traditionally high, Devon Holidays wanted our help ranking for their stunning location of Finlake. Furthermore, they wanted to start ranking for more general search terms relevant to the location and boost overall visibility as enquiries started to dip. 

 

Ensuring that results were specific to the location and not other resorts and using the location’s name was an extra challenge to contend with for this project.

Our Solution:

The Bronze SEO package was selected to help improve ranking placements for Devon Holidays. As the project didn’t need any content creation, this just involved link-building and technical support to ensure the website was optimised for extra traffic.

The Results:

The project has been running since October 2022, and impressive results have been achieved since then.

 

A 442% increase in organic sessions has been seen since the project’s commencement, which peaked at 1722 organic traffic sessions in the busiest month. The Current month vs last year’s metric has also seen an increase of 125% in organic users. This is further accompanied by a 43% increase in organic sessions. This proves that more people are actively finding the website when searching for a range of associated keywords. 

 

In terms of keywords, when we started the project, Devon Holidays were only ranking for 8 keywords. As of September 2023, the website has 86 keywords on the first page, with 7 in the top 3 positions. There have also been some impressive climbs up the rankings for some of the top words, such as Devon Holidays (up from 16th to 6th), Holiday Lodges Devon (Unranked to 9th) and the targeted Finlake Holiday Lodges (up 5 places).
