How to Add a User to Your Google Analytics 4 (GA4) Account
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) lets you give other people access to your data without sharing passwords. You can control exactly what they are allowed to see or change, which is ideal for agencies, developers, or internal team members.
Adding a New User in GA4
In the bottom-left corner, click Admin (the gear icon).
You will see a number of boxes. The first will be Account settings and the second is property settings:

Most of the time, you should add users at the Property level, unless you wish to give access to your account.
3. Open Access Management
Under the Property column, click:
Property Access Management
(If you want them to have access to everything across all properties, choose Account access management instead.)

4. Add the User
Click the blue + button in the top-right corner
→ Click Add users
Enter the person’s Google email address.

5. Choose their User Role
You will now see a list of access levels.
The most commonly used options are:
- Administrator – Full access including adding and removing users.
- Editor – Can change events, conversions, audiences and settings.
Recommended for agencies managing tracking. - Marketer – Edit audiences, key events, attribution models, look-back windows and events for property. Includes Analyst role.
- Analyst – Can explore data and create comparisons, but cannot change settings.
- Viewer – Can see reports and data only.
For most marketing agencies, choose Editor or Administrator.
